Shop for Home collects the trees and plants in our range built for houses, condos and apartments — pieces sized and priced for a single purchase rather than the bulk quantities a hotel or office fit-out needs. It runs from a compact 24 in tabletop monstera up to seven-foot fiddle leaf figs and palms, across the species that suit ordinary rooms: fiddle leaf fig, rubber tree, areca and golden cane palm, dracaena, bamboo, magnolia and cherry blossom.

Mostly fit, not just size. A hotel lobby specimen is built to be seen from across a room and ships as a single large freight piece with a base meant for a trade installer. Everything on this page is meant to travel through a standard front door, up a stairwell if needed, and sit in a room you also sit in — canopies are proportioned for a normal sightline and pots are finished decor pieces, in white, black or cement, rather than a nursery container. For the commercial end of the same species, our commercial artificial plants collection is the better starting point.
Subtract the pot height and a comfortable margin from your ceiling before comparing overall tree sizes — a canopy that just clears the ceiling reads cramped, not tall. In most Canadian living rooms with eight-foot ceilings, six to seven feet overall is the practical limit: an artificial fiddle leaf fig at 7 ft in a black pot or the 6 ft golden cane palm both sit comfortably under that line. Where a product lists a size range, check the largest option against your ceiling, not the size shown in the main photo.
Living rooms and entryways carry a bold leaf well — fiddle leaf fig, dracaena or bird of paradise reads as a statement piece and holds up to being the focal point. Bedrooms tend to want something quieter: the set of two bamboo trees or a 5 ft Norfolk pine give height and texture without demanding attention. For a seasonal, decorative moment near a front door or dining table, the 6.5 ft cherry blossom pair in cement pots looks like an event rather than furniture.
At the distance people actually stand from a houseplant, trunk detail is one of the first things the eye checks. Fiddle leaf figs on this page come both ways: some, like the 5 to 7 ft version with three to five real wood trunks, use an actual wood trunk that holds up to close inspection in a living room or hallway. A moulded or resin trunk costs less and suits a piece that sits further back — an office corner or a stairwell landing — where nobody stands close enough to check the bark.
Most arrive with some assembly — slotting trunk sections together, fanning a folded canopy, or attaching a planter base — but it's a household job, usually thirty minutes or less for a single tree, not a freight delivery requiring installers. Our unboxing and shaping guide covers the general process for most trees.
A weighted or wide-footprint base, correct pot proportions for the tree's height, and keeping the tree out of a high-traffic path all reduce the risk. Several pieces on this page ship with a weighted planter built in for exactly this reason. Our guide on stopping a tree from tipping over covers the fixes if a tree already feels unstable.
Some can, but most pieces on this page are built for indoor light and humidity levels rather than direct sun and rain. Check the product page for an outdoor or UV-resistant note before moving anything outside — a plant built for indoor use will fade and become brittle faster under real weather than one built for it.
This page mixes sizes — tabletop pieces through seven-foot statement trees — around the idea of residential scale specifically, rather than organizing by height band. Our tabletop plants and floor plants collections narrow by form instead, which is useful once you already know whether you want something on a surface or on the floor.
Only occasional dusting. There's no watering, no light requirement and nothing to trim on a schedule, since the leaf and branch shape is fixed when the piece is made. A soft brush or microfibre cloth every few weeks is the extent of it — our cleaning guide covers the method by leaf type.
