Will it look real up close?

The moss layer does most of the work. It covers the join between trunk and pot, which is where artificial bonsai usually give themselves away, so the piece survives inspection from a metre or so. Closer than that, the leaf edges read as cut material.

What kind of pot does it come in?

That depends on the style you pick. Four options use a moss-topped planter and three use a purple sand pot - the unglazed reddish clay traditionally used for Chinese teaware and bonsai trays.

Does it need any maintenance?

Dusting, and nothing else. The moss is artificial as well, so there is no watering routine to forget and no drainage tray waiting to leave a ring on a wooden console.
