Cherry Blossom Trees
Artificial cherry blossom trees hold full bloom permanently — the effect a real sakura delivers for about ten days a year, available on any day you need it. Faux blossom is the most requested tree in event and wedding styling, and it works just as hard in restaurants, retail displays and hotel entrances where a permanent spring is the entire design brief.

Is there a difference between cherry blossom and sakura?
No — sakura is simply the Japanese word for the flowering cherry, so the two terms describe the same tree and are used interchangeably throughout this range. What does differ, and what is worth choosing between, is the flower: single-petal blossoms are lighter, more open and closer to the wild Japanese species, while dense double-petal blossoms give the heavy pink cloud most people picture and photograph better under artificial light. Colour runs from near-white through soft blush to a saturated pink that reads clearly across a room.
What is the best artificial cherry blossom tree?
For an event, the densest one you can afford — blossom photographs as mass, and gaps show badly in a wide shot. For an interior, the opposite: a sparser, more open canopy on a visible trunk looks like a tree, where a very dense one can start to look like a prop once you live beside it every day. Beyond that, the trunk decides it. Blossom trees are usually seen from below, so a fiberglass or real-wood trunk with genuine bark texture matters more here than on species where foliage hides the base. See For Weddings & Events.
How to choose the right size
Blossom trees are wide, and at event scale very wide — a 10 ft specimen commonly spreads 2 m or more, and weeping forms spread further still. In a domestic room with a 2.4 m ceiling, 6 ft is the practical maximum, because a blossom canopy pressed against a ceiling loses the arching shape that makes it worth having. For an aisle or an entrance, pair two 8 ft trees rather than reaching for one 12 ft. For anything larger see Flowering Trees and Large Artificial Trees.
Frequently asked questions
Do the blossom petals shed or fall off over time?
Some petal shedding is normal with any faux blossom tree, especially after transport or handling, since the petals are individually attached rather than moulded as one piece. A few loose petals after unboxing or a move are not a defect. Gently reshaping the branches and giving the canopy a light shake settles most of it. Keeping the tree away from foot traffic and out of doorways where it gets brushed reduces ongoing loss.
Can a cherry blossom tree go outside for a wedding or event in Canada?
For a single day or weekend outdoors, most of these trees hold up fine as long as there is no heavy rain and the tree is anchored against wind, since the canopy catches a lot of air. For anything left outside longer, or through a Canadian winter, indoor-grade blossom is not built for freeze-thaw or prolonged UV exposure. If the installation needs to stay outdoors for weeks, ask us which specific tree is suited before you order.
Will the pink or white blossom fade if it sits in a sunny window?
Sustained direct sun will fade any dyed fabric or silk petal over months and years, and pink tones generally show fading sooner than white because the dye has further to shift. A bright room without hours of direct afternoon sun is fine for most interiors. If the spot you have in mind gets strong all-day sun, rotating the tree occasionally or choosing a white or blush shade over a saturated pink will show wear more slowly.
How much assembly is needed, and does the tree arrive already shaped?
Trunks typically ship built, with branches folded flat or wrapped for the box. On arrival, you separate and bend the branches outward into an open, natural silhouette, which takes longer on denser event-scale trees than on a single sparse interior specimen. Multi-trunk versions need each pole positioned before the base is stable. No tools are required. Our unboxing and shaping guide covers the branch-shaping technique in detail.
Is the height listed the exact height once the tree is potted and standing?
The height stated is the finished, potted height as the tree will stand in the room or venue, not the trunk alone, unless a listing says otherwise. Single-trunk and multi-trunk versions of the same nominal height can look different in scale because a multi-trunk base spreads the canopy wider at a lower point. Weeping forms are measured to the lowest hanging branch tip, so check that dimension separately if drape length matters to your setting.
