Target Faux Olive Trees: Every US Price, Checked 13 October 2026

13 October 2026

Target's own faux olive trees run $34.99 to $250.00, and the marketplace listings alongside them start at $44.99. We read every one of them on 13 October 2026. Two things that page will not tell you, and that decide whether you get the tree you think you ordered: Target's specification table contradicts its own product titles on height, and two olive trees sitting side by side can carry a 365-day and a 30-day return window depending on who actually sells them. We sell artificial trees ourselves, so we have an interest here, and our own products are flagged in the first person throughout.

The height problem, in Target's own words

A faux tree is bought by height more than by anything else. On the two trees we opened fully, Target's title and Target's specification table disagree.

  • The Threshold designed with Studio McGee tree sold as a "90" Artificial Olive Tree" is specified as "Dimensions (Overall): 93 Inches (H)". Three inches taller than the name.
  • The Target Plus listing titled "Romswi Faux Olive Tree ... 7 FT Tall" is specified as "Dimensions (Overall): 84 feet (H)". Eighty-four feet is a seven-storey building. It is a unit error for 84 inches, which is 7 ft, so the title is right and the spec table is wrong.

Neither correction appears anywhere a shopper comparing heights would look. If you are matching a tree to an 8 ft ceiling, a three-inch discrepancy is the difference between a tree that clears and one that does not.

There is a structural version of the same problem. Target's Artificial Trees category showed 1,848 results on 13 October 2026. Its own height filter sorts them into four bands: 71 at 20 to 29 inches, 69 at 30 to 39, 80 at 40 to 49, and 185 at 50 inches and above. That totals 405. So about 78 percent of Target's artificial tree listings carry no height value at all in the filter Target provides for choosing a tree by height. You can see the number in the title, but you cannot filter by it.

Target's own olive trees, every one we found

These are the trees Target sells under its own brands, read 13 October 2026. All are unlit where the specification was readable.

Tree Price Height in the spec Returns
Threshold with Studio McGee, 90 in Artificial Olive Tree $250.00 93 in 365 days
Hearth & Hand with Magnolia, 96 in Black Olive $199.99 96 in 365 days, in-store pickup only
Threshold with Studio McGee, 76.5 in in Ceramic Pot $180.00 76.5 in 365 days
Threshold with Studio McGee, Asymmetrical Olive Tree $150.00 61 in 365 days
Hearth & Hand with Magnolia, 28 in Mini Black Olive $34.99 28 in 365 days

The brands to look for are Threshold, Threshold designed with Studio McGee and Hearth & Hand with Magnolia. Project 62, Opalhouse and Room Essentials did not appear in this category at all, so if you are searching by those names you will come up short.

One practical note on the 96 in Black Olive at $199.99: its page showed shipping not available, pickup only. At eight feet tall that is a real constraint, and it is store-dependent, so check your own store before counting on it.

The marketplace listings, and the discount that is doing the work

Alongside Target's own trees sit Target Plus listings from third-party sellers. They are cheaper, and nearly every one shows a struck-through price. A sample, copied exactly as rendered on 13 October 2026:

Listing Price block as shown
Romswi 6FT to 7FT Artificial Olive Tree $44.99 to $54.99, reg $74.99 to $91.65, Sale
Nearly Natural 7 ft Olive Tree with Natural Trunk $49.99, reg $94.99, Sale
Romswi Faux Olive Tree, Oval White Planter, 5 FT $54.99, reg $91.65, Sale
ALEEN & AJEAN 6FT with Planter and Basket $69.99, reg $129.99, Sale
COZONY 6 to 7FT Faux Olive Tree $74.99 to $89.99, reg $399.99 to $479.99, Sale
Romswi Faux Olive Tree, Oval White Planter, 7 FT $99.99, reg $249.98, $149.99 off
Nearly Natural 5.5 ft Olive Topiary, UV Resistant $91.99, reg $287.99, Sale

Here is the pattern worth knowing. Every struck-through "reg" price we found in this category was on a Target Plus marketplace listing. Not one Target owned-brand tree showed one. The two Threshold trees on clearance carried a Clearance badge at $110.50 with no reg price shown at all.

Treat a 60 percent discount on a marketplace listing as a starting price with a number printed above it, not as a saving. A tree listed at $74.99 against a reg of $399.99 was not selling at $399.99.

Who is actually selling it, and why your returns depend on it

This is the part that costs real money and is genuinely hard to see.

The Romswi 7 FT olive tree says, on its own page, "Sold & shipped by Hykolity". The brand on the card is not the seller. Under its specification table Target prints, verbatim: "The above item details were provided by the Target Plus Partner. Target does not represent or warrant that this information is accurate or complete." That disclaimer is also the explanation for the 84 feet.

The return windows follow the seller, not the shelf. From Target's own help pages on 13 October 2026:

  • Target owned brands: 365 days. "If you're not satisfied with any Target Owned Brand item, return it within one year with a receipt for an exchange or a refund."
  • Most items sold by Target: 90 days.
  • Target Plus partners: 30 days. "Most items sold by Target Plus in new condition and returned within 30 days will receive a refund."
  • A Target Circle Card or Circle 360 membership adds 30 days to nearly all of it.

So the Threshold tree at $250.00 gives you a year to change your mind, and the Romswi tree at $99.99 gives you 30 days. Both are olive trees. Both appear on the same results page. The results page does not say which is which.

In fairness to Target, returns are free either way: items come back by mail with a label or to any store, and there is no restocking fee. The 365-day window on Target's own brands is excellent and better than most specialists offer, ours included.

Shipping and membership

From Target's own help article, verbatim: "To receive free shipping, spend $35 or more, place your order using your Target Circle Card or become a Target Circle 360 member. Otherwise, pay $5.99." Every olive tree above clears $35, so shipping is free on all of them.

Target Circle itself is free to join. Target Circle 360 is $99 a year or $10.99 a month, with a reduced rate of $49 a year for Circle Card holders and some verified groups, and a 14-day free trial. For buying one tree, you do not need any of it.

Where Target is the better buy

Three situations, put plainly.

  • You want to spend under $150. Target's $34.99 mini olive and the marketplace trees at $44.99 to $99.99 are below anything we sell. Our olives open at $159.99.
  • You want a year to change your mind. 365 days on a Target owned brand beats our window and nearly everyone else's.
  • You want to see it first. We have no stores. Target has about two thousand.

Where we differ

Our own figures, read from our US storefront on 13 October 2026: 271 buyable options across 124 products, from $72.99 to $1,430.99, with free US shipping and delivery in 2 to 10 business days. Our olive trees are 12 products from $159.99 to $743.99.

Comparison Target (13 Oct 2026) Eververda (13 Oct 2026)
Olive trees, own brand 5 products, $34.99 to $250.00 12 products, $159.99 to $743.99
Listings filterable by height 405 of 1,848, about 22 percent Every product, in six bands
Who sells it Target, or one of many partners Us, on every product
Return window 365, 90 or 30 days by seller One policy, shown on the page
Physical stores About 2,000 None

The difference that matters is not price, because below $150 Target simply wins. It is that you can tell what you are buying. Every tree we sell carries a height band you can filter on, one seller, and one return policy. On Target, the height might be in the title and absent from the filter, the spec table might contradict the title, and the return window depends on a seller name printed halfway down the page.

We are not claiming our figures are beyond question. We publish a first-party accuracy record showing when the catalogue was last checked and what was corrected, because we would rather you could audit us than take our word for it. You can browse our olive trees and compare the specification tables directly against the ones above.

What we could not check

Stating the edges of what we know, rather than implying we checked more than we did.

  • Prices and stock are specific to one store. The session resolved to ZIP 52404, Cedar Rapids South, Iowa. Pickup availability and any "only a few left" message will differ where you are. Posted prices are national as far as we could tell.
  • We read three of eight pages of the 50 inch and over tree filter, roughly 72 cards. Pages 2 and 3 were entirely marketplace sellers, so we believe there are no further Target-brand floor trees, but we did not prove it.
  • We did not open every specification table, so four Threshold and Hearth & Hand items carry title-only heights above.
  • Target never prints "USD" on a price. These are US dollars because this is the US site on a US ZIP code.
  • Counts move. The 50 inch and over filter read 186 results and then 185 about 25 minutes later.
  • We did not sign in, add anything to a cart, or start a checkout, so no figure here was confirmed at a till.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a faux olive tree at Target?

Target's own brands run $34.99 for a 28 inch mini to $250.00 for a 90 inch Threshold designed with Studio McGee tree, read 13 October 2026. Marketplace listings on the same site start around $44.99. All of them clear the $35 free shipping threshold.

Why do two Target olive trees have different return windows?

Because the window follows the seller. A Target owned brand carries 365 days, most items sold by Target carry 90, and a Target Plus partner carries 30. The seller is named on the product page as "Sold and shipped by", not on the results page.

Is the height on a Target tree listing reliable?

Check the specification table against the title. On 13 October 2026 a tree titled 90 inches was specified at 93 inches, and one titled 7 ft was specified at 84 feet. Target prints a disclaimer on partner listings saying it does not warrant that the details are accurate or complete.

Does Target charge for shipping on a faux tree?

No, on anything above $35, which is every olive tree listed above. Below that it is $5.99, or free with a Target Circle Card or a Circle 360 membership.

Is Target cheaper than a specialist?

Below $150, clearly yes. Target's $34.99 mini olive and its marketplace trees from $44.99 are under anything we stock, and our olives open at $159.99. A specialist earns its price when you need a specific height you can actually filter for, one seller, and a specification you can rely on.

Who is Romswi, and is it Target?

It is a Target Plus marketplace brand. The 7 FT olive tree listed under that name states on its own page that it is sold and shipped by Hykolity. Target carries it but does not sell it, which is why it falls under the 30-day partner return window rather than Target's own.
