How wide does it spread?
About 4 ft (1.2 m) against 6 ft (2 m) of height. Bonsai form means the branches are trained outwards in flat pads rather than upwards, so it wants more floor width than a conventional tree of the same height, and it rewards being set away from the wall so the layers read separately.
What is the trunk made of?
Fibreglass, which is what lets the trunk hold a leaning, off-centre bonsai line without a visible support. On a bonsai the trunk line is the entire design - a straight pole with pads attached to it looks wrong immediately - so this is the component worth paying for.
Where does this work best?
