Can this go outside?

Covered outdoor areas, yes - patios, porches and sheltered entrances are listed uses. It is not sold as a fully exposed landscape tree, so keep it out of standing weather and away from spots where wind can catch that 4.9 ft crown.

Where does this work best?

Anywhere the ceiling is generous and the light is poor. A living evergreen of this size needs daylight a lobby atrium rarely provides, so the faux pine holds its colour in spots where the real thing would thin out and drop needles within a season.
