Will it look real up close?
The trunk will, because it is real wood. Olive is one of the few trees where the trunk carries most of the character, and using timber instead of a moulding means the bark, the knots and the twist are genuine. The leaves are the giveaway - at arm's length you will be able to tell, and we would rather say that than overpromise.
How tall is it, really?
Two sizes: 8.2 ft (2.5 m) and 10 ft (3 m). The 10 ft tree wants close to three metres of clear ceiling and looks wrong crammed under a standard domestic one. If your ceiling is ordinary height, take the 8.2 ft version and give it width instead.
Can this go outside?
It is listed for indoor and outdoor decor, and it does well on a covered terrace or under a canopy. Bear in mind that a natural timber trunk left in permanent rain behaves like any other piece of untreated outdoor timber, so a sheltered position is the honest recommendation.
