Modelled on Pieris japonica - horse drunk wood in the Chinese name - this artificial specimen tree is stocked in eight heights between 1 m (3.3 ft) and 3 m (9.8 ft). A natural wood trunk carries dense broadleaf foliage, and it is rated for indoor and outdoor placement.

How tall is it, really?

Eight heights are stocked: 1 m, 1.5 m, 1.8 m, 2 m, 2.2 m, 2.5 m, 2.8 m and 3 m. The 2.5 m and 3 m sizes read as a proper tree in a double-height space; below 1.8 m the piece behaves like a large potted shrub.

Can this go outside?

It is listed for both. Outdoors the honest limit is exposure - under a canopy or against a sheltered wall it keeps its look far longer than in an open courtyard taking full sun and rain all year.

Where does this work best?

Anywhere a broadleaf silhouette is wanted instead of a palm or a conifer. Dense leaf mass fills volume rather than drawing a line, which makes it useful against a blank wall or beside a staircase where the eye needs somewhere to land.
