Leaf size. Clusia leaves are large, flat and few, so the tree reads as a crisp graphic shape rather than a mass of small foliage. In a minimal interior that legibility is the point; in a soft, layered scheme a ficus would blend in better.
What is the trunk made of?
Fiberglass. It holds a moulded bark texture, stays rigid at 4.5 m without a heavy core, and does not move with humidity - which matters in a restaurant or a pool-adjacent lobby where a timber-cored tree would warp.
